D39C Collaborative Volunteer Interest Page Field Definitions – Interests

2015 – 2016 Areas of Volunteer Interest Options

(Please select all that interest you. This is an indication of interest, not a commitment. The committee chairs and/or volunteer coordinators will contact you to match volunteer position(s) to your interest and availability)

  • Classrooms – Assist LEDs with small groups of students. Interest list will be supplied to the PODs. Volunteers are also encouraged to contact homeroom LEDs directly (Onsite)
  • Classrooms – Lead large groups (15+ students) in curriculum, deep dives, or explorations. Interest list will be supplied to the PODs. Volunteers are also encouraged to contact homeroom LEDs directly (Onsite)
  • Minds in Motion (MIM) – Lead large groups (15+ students) in physical activities. Interest list will be supplied to the PODs. Volunteers are also encouraged to contact homeroom LEDs directly (Onsite)
  • Minds in Motion (MIM) – Assist the MIM leaders. Interest list will be supplied to the PODs. Volunteers are also encouraged to contact homeroom LEDs directly (Onsite)
  • Office / Welcome Center – Greet visitors at front desk, answer phones, locate students, and assist where needed (Onsite)
  • Parking Lot / Crosswalk Guard – Assist staff members during drop off and pickup (Onsite)
  • Loft / Library – Assist the library tech and work with small groups of students (Onsite)
  • Preschool – Assist LEDs with classroom activities, Preschool hours 6:30am – 6pm full day, 8:30am – 1:30pm extended day (Onsite)
  • Carnival39 (November, 2015) – Efforts leading up to the event may include planning, organizing, setting up, hiring of vendors, coordinating with Classroom Connectors for classroom auction items, and volunteering on day of event (Onsite and Offsite)
  • Staff Appreciation Week (February, 2016) – Efforts entail a full week of recognizing our D39 staff in breakfasts, international lunches, tea, and Spa day (Onsite and Offsite)
  • Golf Tournament (March, 2016) – Efforts leading up to the event may include: planning, setting up, seeking and organizing auction items, selling tickets, and working the event (Offsite)
  • Healthy Body, Healthy Planet (April 2016) – Efforts leading up to the event may include planning, organizing, setting up, coordinating with Classroom Connectors for classroom activities, and working the event (Onsite and Offsite)
  • Bike to School Day (May 2016) – Efforts leading up to the event may include planning, organizing, setting up, and chauffeuring the students on day of event (Offsite)
  • Family Social Events – Efforts entail leading or assisting one or more social programs planned throughout the school year, including Guys Night, Mom’s Night, Family Movie Night, Family Camp Out, Last School Party, etc. (Offsite)
  • Direct Ask – Assist in the Direct Program where needed (Offsite)
  • Data Entry – Assist the Collaborative Treasurer in data entry work where needed (Offsite)
  • Passive Fundraising – Communicate and coordinate collection of Box Tops with Classroom Connectors, ensure collected Box Tops are counted and submitted. Enroll D39C in programs with merchants such as Ralph’s, Target, etc. and help promote the passive fundraising programs to the D39C community (Offsite)
  • Service39 — Efforts entail planning and working various family service projects throughout the school year, including beach cleanup, clothing drive, making sleeping mats for the homeless, charity 5k run teams, and designing Service39 exploration and/or deep dive classes (Onsite and Offsite)
  • Connect39 – Coordinate topics, speakers, and setup the monthly morning (Connect39 AM) and evening (Connect 39 PM) coffee chats, parent education chats, town hall meetings (Onsite and Offsite)
  • Hospitality – Serve as the go-to team for the catering needs and set-up details involved with all of the Collaborative programs and events.
