2019 - 2020 39 Days of Giving Update - School Supplies Are Included!

39 DAYS OF GIVING (AUGUST 19 THROUGH OCTOBER 1)

We only ask parents to financially support the campus once a year, during the 39 days of giving. The funds raised support a variety of needs ranging from homeroom supplies, social-emotional support programs, physical education, music, and many others not funded by public funds.

Funds raised during 39 Days of Giving support a variety of needs for learners on campus, including classroom supplies, educational subscriptions, physical education, professional development, grants and many more. This year, funds raised will be strategically invested into social-emotional learning & well-being of our learners through a variety of initiatives. Below outlines just some of the beneficiaries of this year’s campaign.

General Fund

  • Classroom Supplies
    • Did you know the average parent spends over $120 on classroom supplies each year in a traditional classroom? Funds from 39 Days of giving provide students with the following.
      • All student supplies at Design39Campus — paper, pencils, markers, construction paper, glue.
      • Makery materials, robotics, science, math, and all instruction materials.
  • Minds in Motion – Physical Education: The D39C Collaborative is responsible for staffing and funding physical education instructional aids for all grade-spans.
  • Student Enrichment
    • Before and after school activities spanning all grade ranges are all fully, or partially, funded through 39 days of giving.
    • You can visit our Student Enrichment Page Here to see some of the amazing opportunities your children can take advantage of, all made possible by our annual fundraiser
  • Professional Development
    • When we surveyed our parents, the number one response was “hiring and developing” the best teachers possible for every classroom. Research confirms that the most important factor contributing to a student’s success in school is the quality of teaching.
      • Funds will help pay for multiple professional development strategy to include routine professional development days used to engaging our teams of Learning Experience Designers (teachers) around the needs of our students.
      • D39C Staff and LEDs learn to problem-solve together in order to ensure all students achieve success.
  • Community Educations & Connecting Events
    • Design39Campus is more than just a school, its a community. Funds raised during 39 days of giving help to pay for community engagement events for students, teachers, and parents alike throughout the year.

Social & Emotional Well-Being

  • At Design39Campus we move from competition to collaboration where relationships are the units we use to measure success. School can be a challenging environment for children with changing bodies and growing minds. We aim to foster a welcoming environment for all children and families at our school, but that takes intentionality, work, and investment. New and expanded initiatives this year include:
    • Social Emotional Learning (SEL) Curriculum and Events for students and parents.
      • Disney Youth Leadership Series
      • No Place for Hate Leadership Conference
      • Anti-Bias Training
    • Counseling Support
    • Clubs (Leadership & Inclusivity)
    • Counseling Center
    • SEL Professional Development for Staff

Elementary (TK-3) Requirements

  • Impact Reading Specialist
    • Teaching all children to read requires that every child receive excellent reading instruction and that children who are struggling with reading receive additional instruction from professionals specifically prepared to teach them.
    • Our Reading Specialist provides expert instruction, assessment, and leadership for our reading program.
  • Project Lead The Way (PLTW)
    • Learning pathways in computer science, engineering, and biomedical science engage students in hands-on activities, projects, and problems; empowering them to solve real-world challenges and inspire them to re imagine how they see themselves.
  • Educational Subscriptions
    • Technology enhances the learning experiences of our students. Through technology integration, we individualize instruction, support divergent thinking, solve complex problems, create artistically, connect globally and design meaningful work.

Fourth & Fifth Grade Requirements

  • Altitude Learning
    • A learning platform that develops agency in our students to drive their own learning for life.
  • Explorations & Deep Dives
    • Find your passions and develop your interests through learning experiences as diverse as Maker39.  Explorations and Deep Dives help our learners become “kidpreneurs.”

Middle-School (6-8) Requirements

  • Lead39
    • Every student is a leader, not because of a popularity contest, rather because of interest.  Lead39 develops the leader in each one of us.
  • 8th Grade Promotion
    • 8th Grade Promotion is designed from start to finish by 8th grade students – from developing a budget, to writing and approving contracts, to marketing and designing unique and memorable experiences to be remembered by their promoting class for a lifetime.
  • Instrumental Music
    • Our students don’t just play the notes on the page. At Design39Campus, our musicians compose and conduct their own music starting in Kindergarten and expanding on their expertise through 8th grade.
