In this article, we will overview a past event, Hangout 39
Last Friday, May 5th, a new kind of event was held known as Hangout 39. This was a student-led event that was planned for months. The Student Empowerment Team decided what was there. This included food, music, and other activities. This article will review the afternoon event, what activities there were, and the food available for snacking.
Lets begin with food: the student team provided pizza, chips, lemonade, water, and brownies as well as a variety of other food choices.
For this event, the Student Empowerment Team submitted a Collaborative Grant to purchase bean bag toss, gigantic connect-four, inflatable bowling, and huge tic-tac-toe, just for this big event. In addition, Sharks and Minnows was played. For May the 4th Be With You, the event was themed as Starry, for Star Wars (This month is the 40th anniversary of Star Wars!). This event was unique because of its immense number of games, a hired DJ (Dennis Orosa), and its photobooth for pictures of students and their friends.
Overall students said it was a fun event that was worth going to, especially with friends.
