What is it like in the average day of a student at Design39Campus, from the perspective of an 8th grader no less. What is their routine? What do they do in school? What is their life like? Those are the questions that this article will be covering.
Parker has an elaborate schedule throughout the day. It begins with his morning routine. Parker wakes up in the morning at 6:50am and heads to the shower, from there he brushes his teeth, and eats breakfast before heading to school. One of the most important parts of his mornings is coffee. Parker prefers a cookie crumble frappuccino with double chocolate sauce and extra whipped cream.
Parker arrives at school early due to the fact that his mother works at the school as a teacher for 4th and 5th Grade. Once the music plays, signaling for students to head to class, Parker heads to the far side of the 6/7/8 hallway. Parker starts his day with Humanities. The Humanities class is taught by Mr. Downs and Mrs. Kaiser who work together as a double classroom to teach their class. They are currently learning about Utopian Societies and Reforms during the 1800s. On A-days, Parker would have MiM, Minds In Motion, where they do sports, freeplay, and run, as well as the occasional fitness test. MiM cuts between the first block, which for him is Humanities class. Once he gets back from MiM, he will finish up his class before heading to lunch, Parker prefers to buy lunch at school. He likes to eat out on the turf with some friends before heading to the upper blacktop to play. When he gets back to class, he goes to the Science class which is taught by Mr. Asmus. They are currently finishing up their unit on Waves. On B-days there isn’t MiM so he would have Humanities, then Integrated Math, Lunch, and after that, he would go to his Electives which he chose. Most people have 2 electives, both classes being about an hour long. Some people have a single elective that covers the full 2 hours. After Electives on B-days or Math on A-days, Parker packs up and gets ready to go. From there he heads to Del Norte where his dad works as the Vice Principal and he normally stays there until 6pm before heading home.
Parker has many hobbies outside of school. He enjoys collecting sports cards, playing sports such as water polo. When asked about how his social life is he said, “Good. I have lots of friends and I’m happy.” Parker has a younger sister named Elyse who is on a softball team. Parker enjoys helping out his sister and their softball team by coaching them. Sometimes on Fridays, Parker and his friends like to go to Target after school to get Starbucks. Sometimes they hang out around Target to get candy or food from one of the local restaurants.
Parker has many friends at Design39Campus. Gustavo I., Ethan P., and Drew R. are just a few of Parker’s friends. According to his friends, some words to describe Parker are interesting, unique, funny, a bit loud, and somewhat crazy (in a good way). Many like Parker for the joy he brings to their lives. Maxwell C., one of Parker’s friends says he is “very spontaneous which is funny and makes me happy.” Overall Parker has positively impacted the lives of the people around him having close relationships with his friends.
