In collaboration with our student leaders, we are excited to bring a new event, Read39, to our community. Read39 will take place Monday, April 3 through Friday, April 7. This week of literacy activities will celebrate and build on our love of reading and writing.
Events for Families:
Literacy Night: On Tuesday, April 4 from 5:00-7:00pm, join us for a TK-8 community event with literacy activities throughout the B building. You will receive another email with details about Literacy Night.
Book Fair: Because there will be events during the school day and we do not have a new librarian yet, the Book Fair will be open for you to attend with your student before school Monday-Friday from 8:00-9:00am in the Loft. Students and families can also attend on Tuesday afternoon from 3:30-5:00pm and on Thursday evening during our Literacy Night from 5:00-7:00pm. This is a cashless event. Keep an eye out for another email with Book Fair details and information about how to set up your eWallet.
Get a Book, Give a Book: Throughout the week, you can donate gently used books to the Welcome Center or Loft. These will be donated to local homeless shelters and school libraries. You can also purchase new books from the Book Fair to be donated to Rady Children’s Hospital.
Events for Students:
Leading with Reading: Throughout the week, our whole campus will “lead with reading” and will be invited to start the first 20 minutes of the day with reading.
Author Events: We also have four amazing authors coming in to read aloud and share their process of becoming published with our students. See links to their websites and books below.

Reading Buddies and Cozy Day: On Friday, April 7, our younger readers will be paired with older buddies to read stories together. Students are invited to wear pjs or comfy clothes.
